Christmas Home Decorating Ideas Dallas Texas

Is your holiday spirit reflected in your home decor on a large scale, or do you have a minimalist approach? Whether you’re a holiday decorating novice or a seasoned pro, here are 6 ideas that might inspire your home decor this season.

Brighten Up Your Front Door

There are quite a few ways you can dress up your front door, but here it never hurts to stick with the classics. An evergreen wreath accented with wide red ribbons, or a long garland wrapped in twinkling lights, are great ways to make your home look warm and inviting.

Accent Your Mailbox

Don’t let your mailbox get left out in the cold. Try draping your mailbox with an evergreen garland wrapped loosely in sheer ribbon. Incorporate a big bow or other wintry items like silk poinsettias or faux berries.

Create an Eye-Catching Centerpiece

Just because Thanksgiving has come and gone, doesn’t mean that your centerpiece has to go. Instead, create something new that will be fitting for the holiday season. An elegant Christmas centerpiece can be created easily with silver vases, red roses and white tallow berries. Accent the bases of the vases with garland, sprigs of berries and votive candles.

Incorporate Greenery

There are many things around the house that can be wrapped in greenery. Gone are the days where garland strictly adorns the mantle. Wrap evergreen garlands around the staircase banister, the backs of dining room chairs and columns or pillars. You can even wrap them around the stems of pendant lights. If it can be wrapped, wrap it! To top it off, incorporate twinkling lights.

Pop Out New Pillows

Throw pillows are one of the easiest ways to change the look of a room. Change out your current pillows for ones in shades of red, green and gold. If you’re unable to find ones you love at the department store, head to your local fabric store instead. A fabric supplier is a great way to get exactly what you want. Whether you sew the pillow yourself or have someone do it for you, it’s a great thing to have handy each time Christmas rolls around.

Make Use of Your Ornaments

A great way to add big impact to your tree is by clumping small ornaments together in one spot. Simply thread them together with string and then hang. With that said, ornaments don’t have to stay on the tree. If you have extras around, put them to use in other ways. Fill baskets or large glass vases with them and set them around the house as accent pieces. There’s really no point of having all those ornaments if you’re not going to use them!
