With summer coming to a close, it’s time to start talking about seasonal colors. And of course, that means a peek at Pantone’s Color Report for Fall 2017. Although generated based off of colors shown by fashion designers during New York Fashion Week, this color palette is just as usable throughout the home as they are within your wardrobe.
Here’s what this season’s palette looks like:
“Bookended by a dynamic Grenadine red and a tawny Autumn Maple, the color palette for Fall 2017 leans more to warmth,“ says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. “While comforting, enveloping colors and ease are crucial to the seasonal feeling, standout shades including a pale pink Ballet Slipper, a refreshing Golden Lime and a bright Marina blue. These hues add a striking touch when paired with the classic autumnal shades of Navy Peony, Neutral Gray, Butterum and Tawny Port.”
I have to say, I agree with her and think this fall palette is my favorite thus far!
Now that you’ve seen the palette, let’s take a look at some fabrics that can help bring it to life. Below, I’ve laid out 3 swatches from our collection–both solids and prints–I feel would give you the opportunity to introduce these colors into your home this season.
Powerful, evocative, and dynamic, grenadine is not for the faint of heart.
Formal spaces could benefit from the elegant, sophisticated, and tasteful Tawny Port.
Soft and flattering, this rosy hue would look lovely wherever you need a whisper of color.
A chair or ottoman covered in this warm and toasty shade will make those cool nights feel cozier.
This classic navy is solid, stable, and always in style, making it a perfect choice anywhere.
Use as an accent or let it make a statement–no matter what you choose, this pretty neutral won’t disappoint.
This intense green makes it easy to bring the outdoors in and can look just as nice in a softer shade.
Accent pillows will certainly pop with covers featuring this twist on a traditional earth tone.
Fresh and bright, Marina is the perfect shade of blue for areas you want to appear fresh and bright.
If a space needs warmth, this tawny and russet hue will deliver.
